Born
in 1966 in France, Christophe Cassegrain start shoting
the landscape nature in 1986. Interested by the forms, the volumes
and the light that he can find in the landscape, he shots, with
large format camera, the nature as he see it : a vision of landscape
stripped of all human, social or cultural presence, essentially
based on the choice of the subject that expresses the pureness
of line, the rendering of the subject matter and the light, trying
at the same time to nurture the viewer with emotions as intense
as those experienced while taking the shot.
Since
many years, most of his work is realized in North America continent
and inspired by this sentence of Wim Wenders ".this
manner of disappearing altogether into what one sees, to no longer
feel the need of interpretation, but only to look.". Softness
and grace of those rock landscapes having as the only accomplice
the silence's sound.
The
author is no longer the artist of the shot, the aesthetic of the
landscape alone is here to remind us of this.
